children are invariably described as a treasure and future of mankind. It is because of this premise that their development has been considered of paramount importance. Nevertheless, denial of adequate opportunities for their development and various forms of discriminations and exploitations to which they are subjected have made the world community review the conditions in which they are brought up and take several steps for their protection, well being and development.
Children are profoundly affected as their parents die, setting them on a long trail of painful experiences often characterized by: -
· Economic Hardships
· Lack of attention
· Withdrawal from school
· Psychological distress
· Loss of inheritance
· Malnutrition and illness
In the face of magnitude of the problem, government civil societies support has been weak. So far orphans have failed to receive the attention they deserve. The most critical challenge facing us is to develop effective responses that match the scale of the problem. VJM has already made a beginning by setting up high quality children homes at par with the best public schools in India at Surat and at Kanpur. We plan to set several such homes which will set a benchmark for other organizations to emulate.
SAVING LIVES, BUILDING FAMILIES
| ||
Today, there are millions of children in our country who have no parents, food, clothing, or access to medical or emotional care. While the majority of these children are dying from malnutrition, their living conditions are so poor that even diaper rash can be deadly. This situation is not isolated; in fact, it is growing at an ever-increasing pace.

VJM SCHOOL AT VILLAGE KUNJLA
Vishwa Jagriti Mission is running two schools for the abandoned, destitute and orphan children of Jharkhand. In Jhharkhand tribal are facing acute social, economic and cultural problems. There are large numbers of young from the age of 18 to 30 who are unemployed. In the absence of any worthwhile opportunities of employment there is large scale migration to other states for employment, mostly in the brick kilns of UP and Madhya Pardesh where they are exploited economically and women face indignities, children are made to work hard, approximately a child has to run 9 to 12 kms every day carrying six unbaked bricks to the kiln every day.
Our schools provide an opportunity to these unfortunate children where they get quality education, English medium, free books, dress, and mid day meal.
Parents leave their children with us when they go for work outside of Jharkhand.

There are 680 children studying in our Schools that are up to 5th class. But we have made arrangements with the help of other organizations to have a school in our premises up to class ten. Our result of this year of class ten was hundred percent with all the children scoring second or first division.. Schools are coeducational. Yoga, music, martial arts, painting and sports such as boxing, hockey and archery are also being taught.
Vishwa Jagriti Adivasi Public Schools at Ranchi are in dire need of help, as many children are on our waiting list and we are unable to admit them due to lack of funds. We also maintain 70 to 100 orphans at our hostel till such time we find suitable place for them.
